the Answer 4 Our Faith

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. - Matthew 7:1-6 NASU

If someone is going to help me get a splinter out of my eye, it will not be a guy with a patch over his eye. If the blind follow the blind, they will both fall into the ditch.

I have found that I much more quickly see a person with the same sin I have or had than someone with a sin I have never experienced. With that said, when I see someone with something in their eye, I turn to a mirror to see if it is also in my eye.

If I have had the same speck of sin in my eye and it has been removed, I am moved with compassion toward the one now suffering. But if it is still in my eye, I either act out of hypocrisy failing to recognize my state of heart, or act of anger and judgment because I am experiencing the same pain and can’t find the remedy.

Even after I have been delivered and see 20\20, I am not quick to help if the person doesn’t see a need to remove the splinter. They will make you the fool and even fight against you. We are not dogs and pigs, but we sometimes act like them. Humility causes us to pray for the other person without judgment. And if God opens the door for splinter removal, take it.

Scripture

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. - Hebrews 10:22-25 KJV

Scripture

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; - 1 Peter 3:15 KJV

Scripture

What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. - Matthew 10:26-28 KJV
