Term limits serve the leader in that they soon return to the private sector to continue to prosper. Term limits also serve the whole of the people in that it restricts a group of people who vote in a politian to serve them alone and not the whole constitution.

Jesus gave a parable of a shrewd but evil servant. This servant did business that rewarded himself. Instead of calling in the money that was owed, he made his own discounts and wrote the rest off thus securing a job for himself when his current employer fired him. We don't have a balanced budget because too many senators and house representatives are securing their own jobs with their state to the hurt of the nation.
